We both live in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand and we’re both enthusiastic session players. We built the site to help us and other folks at our local session in our tune learning. Other people around the world have found it useful too.
Use of Recordings
Go raibh míle maith agaibh to all the players of the tune clips who’ve given us permission to use their recordings. We really appreciate your help.
We’ve also used some excerpts from tunes from sites like YouTube on a Fair Use basis. We believe that our use is for nonprofit educational purposes. See Fair use on YouTube
And a big thanks to Jeremy Keith who runs The Session for many of the ABC files used on our site.
Technical Stuff
The site runs on a WordPress platform using a custom plugin to create the shortcodes we use to add JavaScript capabilities the site. This provides tools such as the MP3 player and ABC handling we need.
We moved from our original Jekyll based static site in late 2022.
